Frankfurt Kurnit Law Firm Adds New Interactive Entertainment Partner
Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, PC added S. Gregory Boyd as a partner and head of the firm’s Interactive Entertainment Group.
“Greg Boyd is in the vanguard of lawyers putting together the newest deals in games and other interactive entertainment,” said Frankfurt Kurnit managing partner Jeffrey A. Greenbaum.
Mr. Boyd has extensive experience negotiating and drafting game development agreements for consoles, PC’s, mobile games, social games, online games, and MMO's. Mr. Boyd negotiates, structures, and drafts IP licensing, development, privacy, terms of use, and employment agreements for multiple game and high technology media publishers and developers. Mr. Boyd also has experience with all legal documents associated with the ongoing operations of online games, social networks, branded entertainment, and high technology media outlets. He has advised high technology media companies on intellectual property portfolios licensing, strategic development, litigation, and registration of intellectual property.
Mr. Boyd represents a wide variety of interactive entertainment and new media companies, including Atari, Riot Games, ArenaNet, and Majesco Entertainment Company.
Mr. Boyd is also the co-author and editor of the popular textbook Business and Legal Primer for Game Development (Charles River Media). He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at New York Law School, where he teaches a seminar in advanced intellectual property. He is frequently quoted on interactive entertainment issues, including by CNN, Fortune, Forbes, Gamasutra, Edge-Online, and the New York Law Journal.
Mr. Boyd has his JD and MD degrees from University of North Carolina (Chancellor’s Scholar, with honors, 2004). He also has an MBA with concentrations in finance and marketing from the NYU Stern School of Business (2009), and is a graduate of East Carolina University (MS 1998, BS, magna cum laude, 1996). He is admitted to practice law in New York and is a registered patent attorney with the USPTO.

Frankfurt Kurnit Client Northwell Health Gets Big Win in Battle with NYU Langone Health System
In a battle between two of the largest healthcare systems in the New York metropolitan area, a New York federal court on March 1st handed an early win to Frankfurt Kurnit client Northwell Health. NYU Langone Health System (“NYU Langone”) sued Northwell Health alleging false advertising and trade dress infringement (i.e., infringement of the overall design and appearance of NYU Langone’s advertisements)—under state and federal law.
