Mma H. Afoaku is an associate in the Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations group.
Ms. Afoaku advises clients on transactional and counseling matters across a variety of industries, including sports, automotive, beauty, e-commerce, interactive entertainment, food and beverage, social media, and telecommunications. She negotiates and drafts talent agreements, sponsorship and event promotion agreements, music license agreements, branded entertainment agreements, license agreements, agency and management agreements, and releases. She also advises clients on advertising copy and content review, social media guidelines, intellectual property, and right of publicity clearance.
Ms. Afoaku also has experience advising emerging growth and technology companies on software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements, licensing agreements, terms of service, and privacy policies.
Prior to joining Frankfurt Kurnit, Ms. Afoaku was an associate in the Emerging Technology & Venture Capital group at Egan Nelson. While at Egan Nelson, she served as de facto outside counsel for over 100 startups, working on a variety of matters including: formations, angel and venture capital financings, commercial and corporate transactions, and acquisitions, such as XOXCO’s acquisition by Microsoft.
Ms. Afoaku is a speaker and mentor for social impact entrepreneurs through the Communitas Ventures Accelerator, a member of the Media Law Resource Center, and an SEO Alumni volunteer.
She is admitted to practice in New York.
