Nicholas M. Medellin is an associate in the Litigation Group at Frankfurt Kurnit.
Mr. Medellin is a passionate advocate, especially in entertainment, intellectual property, and employment law. Prior to joining Frankfurt Kurnit, Mr. Medellin interned both for the in-house business and legal affairs departments at a major studio and on the creative side of television productions.
Mr. Medellin earned his law degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law (now University of California College of the Law, San Francisco). As a law student, Mr. Medellin was the president of OUTlaw, where he co-founded the Transgender Name and Gender Marker Change Clinic, a San Francisco pro bono clinic that provides legal serves to transgender and nonbinary communities. Mr. Medellin was also a board member of the number one ranked moot court team in the nation and student of the year in 2024. While serving as senior editor for the Hastings Communications and Entertainment Law Journal, Mr. Medellin published a note entitled “Reinventing the Silver Screen. . . Again: the Copyright Licensing Implications of Using Video Game Technology for Virtual Production on Film and TV Sets.”
Mr. Medellin is a member of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Judge Paul R. Michel IP Inn of Court. He is admitted to practice in California.
