Nicholas M. Medellin is an associate in the Litigation Group at Frankfurt Kurnit.
Nicholas litigates primarily entertainment, employment, and intellectual property law matters. Prior to joining Frankfurt Kurnit, Nicholas worked both for the in-house business and legal affairs departments at a major studio and on the creative side of television production.
Nicholas earned his law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (now University of California College of the Law, San Francisco). As a law student, Nicholas was the president of OUTlaw, where he co-founded the Transgender Name and Gender Marker Change Clinic, a San Francisco pro bono clinic that provides legal services to transgender and nonbinary communities. Nicholas was also a board member of the number one ranked moot court team in the nation and student of the year. While serving as senior editor for the Hastings Communications and Entertainment Law Journal, Nicholas published a note entitled “Reinventing the Silver Screen . . . Again: the Copyright Licensing Implications of Using Video Game Technology for Virtual Production on Film and TV Sets.”
Nicholas is a member of the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association, the Beverly Hills Bar Association, and the Judge Paul R. Michel IP Inn of Court. He is admitted to practice in California.
