Mara P. Canner is counsel to our Corporate & Finance Group. For over 25 years, she has advised well-known media, advertising, and entertainment companies and their executives on mergers, acquisitions, sales, joint ventures, partnerships, sponsorships, and other complex corporate transactions - both in the US and in cross-border transactions.
Ms. Canner's substantive experience and personal relationships combine to make her one of the nation's most sought-after corporate attorneys for deal negotiations in these industries, and she is often called upon to advise foreign-based companies on M&A and other transactions as they set up and expand operations in the US.
Ms. Canner has a long track record of success in helping to launch new ventures -- advising founders on their relationships with new partners, counseling on executive compensation, negotiating and structuring financing, establishing business operations, and consummating sales and other exits. While her experience runs to many different industries, she has special expertise negotiating and structuring transactions for clients in the marketing services, commercial production and post-production verticals.
Ms. Canner has represented some of the country's most successful media, advertising and entertainment entities, including The Tribeca Film Festival, @radical.media, Anomaly Partners and Firstborn Multimedia Corporation.
Prior to joining Frankfurt Kurnit, Ms. Canner served as Deputy General Counsel of The Multicare Companies, Inc., a publicly held healthcare company. She is admitted to practice in New York.
