Joe Brown is an associate in the Data Strategy, Privacy & Security Group where he counsels technology, media, and brand clients on a broad range of data matters, including privacy, security, artificial intelligence, advertising, and adtech. He helps clients navigate emerging technologies and evolving regulatory frameworks across state privacy laws.
Previously, Joe served as a Privacy Fellow in the California Privacy Protection Agency's (CPPA) Legal Division, where he contributed to rulemaking activities involving automated decisionmaking technology (ADMT) and opt-out preference signals (OOPS). He also provided counsel on matters related to the implementation of the Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP).
Earlier, he worked as a legal intern at a global cybersecurity company, focusing on maintaining compliance and strengthening the privacy program.
Joe is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (U.S.).
