Annual Marques Conference
Catherine M.C. Farrelly attends the 40th annual Marques Conference in Lisbon, Protugal. The conference explores how trade marks are evolving as businesses find new ways to use brands and intellectual property assets to build consumer trust. The program features plenary sessions on topics including the balance between fame and genericism, strategies for maximizing IP value, the impact of regulation, geographical indications and international trade, and the Digital Product Passport, along with updates from the EUIPO and key developments in CJEU and EU General Court case law. Interactive workshops will also address anticounterfeiting, unconventional trade marks, artificial intelligence, domain name arbitration, and EU design developments.
