The Internet of Things represents a new stage in media, communications and technology. The Internet is no longer just a novelty or a communications platform. The Internet is now the way that we're connecting to everything, from thermostats to our cars. It's becoming the driving force behind the way we live our lives. Entrepreneurs and manufacturers are quick to acknowledge the benefits, but there are also questions about the by-products of the Internet of Things. What are the ramifications for privacy and data security? Is higher tech always better tech (Internet connected toothbrushes, anyone)?
