Melissa Georges and Molly G. Rothchild present the CLE "Live From New York: The Law Behind Live Television" hosted by Cardozo School of Law. This session brings together entertainment attorneys and industry professionals to explore the legal and practical issues that arise in the preparation and production of live television. Georges and Rothschild discuss content review and clearance, defamation and First Amendment considerations, copyright and music licensing, trademark, rights of publicity and privacy, talent and business affairs considerations, and legal risk management. This session also takes a look at how legal, production, business affairs, and talent teams respond when unexpected events occur during a live broadcast, using notable live television moments as case studies.
