Frankfurt Kurnit Supports The Strong National Museum of Play
Frankfurt Kurnit is pleased to announce that it is partnering with The Strong National Museum of Play to help support The Strong’s educational mission and its recent capital expansion showcasing new exhibits on the history, business, and law of video games.
The firm’s sponsorship of The Strong was spearheaded by the firm’s Interactive Entertainment Group. “As video game lawyers who have witnessed the impact of games on culture firsthand, we are thrilled to support The Strong as it expands,” said Sean F. Kane, co-Chair of the Frankfurt Kurnit Interactive Entertainment Group. “The Strong has done a great job identifying the role that the law has played in the evolution of games.”
Based in Rochester, New York, The Strong houses the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of historical materials related to video games and play. Devoted to the history and exploration of play, The Strong is home to the International Center for the History of Electronic Games, the National Toy Hall of Fame, the World Video Game Hall of Fame, the Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play, the Woodbury School, the National Archives of Game Show History, and the American Journal of Play. The museum recently unveiled the ESL Digital Worlds: High Score exhibit, which is home to The World Video Game Hall of Fame, and ESL Digital Worlds: Level Up.
“We are proud to count the team at Frankfurt Kurnit as supporters and partners,” said Steve Dubnik, president and CEO of The Strong. “They bring a unique perspective on the video game industry and depth of experience in legal matters that have shaped the history of gaming.”
Frankfurt Kurnit’s contributions in support of The Strong will help the museum preserve and share the historical and cultural impact of video games and the important role that lawyers and legal decisions have had on the video game industry.
