Frankfurt Kurnit Supports The Strong National Museum of Play
Frankfurt Kurnit is pleased to announce that it is partnering with The Strong National Museum of Play to help support The Strong’s educational mission and its recent capital expansion showcasing new exhibits on the history, business, and law of video games.
The firm’s sponsorship of The Strong was spearheaded by the firm’s Interactive Entertainment Group. “As video game lawyers who have witnessed the impact of games on culture firsthand, we are thrilled to support The Strong as it expands,” said Sean F. Kane, co-Chair of the Frankfurt Kurnit Interactive Entertainment Group. “The Strong has done a great job identifying the role that the law has played in the evolution of games.”
Based in Rochester, New York, The Strong houses the world’s largest and most comprehensive collection of historical materials related to video games and play. Devoted to the history and exploration of play, The Strong is home to the International Center for the History of Electronic Games, the National Toy Hall of Fame, the World Video Game Hall of Fame, the Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play, the Woodbury School, the National Archives of Game Show History, and the American Journal of Play. The museum recently unveiled the ESL Digital Worlds: High Score exhibit, which is home to The World Video Game Hall of Fame, and ESL Digital Worlds: Level Up.

Frankfurt Kurnit Partners with the Entertainment Software Rating Board’s Privacy Certified Program
Frankfurt Kurnit is pleased to announce that its Interactive Entertainment and Data Strategy, Privacy & Security Groups are partnering with the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) to enhance cooperation between ESRB’s Privacy Certified program and the firm. ESRB Privacy Certified assists companies in the video game and toy industries in implementing and maintaining lawful, transparent, and responsible data collection and privacy policies, as well as practices for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information and data. In 2001, the Federal Trade Commission approved ESRB Privacy Certified to serve as one of six Safe Harbor programs, overseeing its members’ compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
