Lisa E. Davis to Receive Women of Power Award
The Natonal Urban League awarded Lisa E. Davis the "Women of Power Award" at its 2011 conference. The award is presented annually to influential women in the civil rights, technology, entertainment, journalism, sports and corporate sectors.
“We are extremely proud that Lisa has been named a Woman of Power by the National Urban League, one of the great Civil Rights organizations,” said Frankfurt Kurnit founding partner Michael Frankfurt. “She has had a distinguished 23 years with us, and we look forward to many more.”
Other honorees included MSNBC Anchor Tamron Hall, actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, Major League Baseball Senior Vice President Wendy Lewis, Verizon Foundation President Rose Stuckey Kirk, UL Hampton Roads President and CEO Edith G. White, Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley, and Massachusetts Superior Court Associate Justice Kimberly S. Budd.
Conference speakers included Bill Gates, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, the Rev. Jessie Jackson, Sr., former NJ Governor Christine Todd Whitman, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Harvard University’s Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
The conference was held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from July 27 to July 30. More than 800 corporate, business, and civic leaders attended.

In 2001, the Federal Trade Commission approved ESRB Privacy Certified to serve as one of six Safe Harbor programs, overseeing its members’ compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. Frankfurt Kurnit Advises Medstar in Sale of Forensic Files True Crime Television Catalog
Content Partners, LLC, a leading independent owner of major studio-distributed films and television shows, has acquired from Medstar Television 400 Forensic Files episodes, and international distribution rights to Forensic Files II. Created by Paul Dowling, the President and CEO of Frankfurt Kurnit client Medstar Television, Forensic Files is a pioneer of true crime television. The series aired from 1996—2011 on TLC, and is currently on CNN-owned HLN network, streamed on digital platforms by FilmRise, and distributed to television outlets around the world. Read more.

Frankfurt Kurnit Client Northwell Health Gets Big Win in Battle with NYU Langone Health System
In a battle between two of the largest healthcare systems in the New York metropolitan area, a New York federal court on March 1st handed an early win to Frankfurt Kurnit client Northwell Health. NYU Langone Health System (“NYU Langone”) sued Northwell Health alleging false advertising and trade dress infringement (i.e., infringement of the overall design and appearance of NYU Langone’s advertisements)—under state and federal law.
