Partner Tyler Maulsby Elected President-Elect of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers
On Saturday, August 6, 2022 the members of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers (APRL) elected Tyler Maulsby as President-Elect at the organization's 2022 Annual Meeting.
APRL is a national organization of lawyers practicing in the areas of legal ethics, professional responsibility, legal malpractice, and the evolving law of lawyering. Tyler will hold the position of President-Elect for the 2022-2023 year and will succeed current APRL current President, Trisha Rich, at APRL’s 2023 Annual Meeting.
“APRL is a fantastic organization of ethics and professional responsibility lawyers across the country. I am honored to have been selected as President-Elect and look forward to working with my colleagues to continuing APRL’s mission of effecting meaningful change in the legal profession.”
In addition to becoming President-Elect of APRL, Tyler is completing his term as chair of the New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Professional Ethics and is an adjunct professor at NYU School of Law where he teaches Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility. He has been a member of APRL for the past seven years and has held both director and officer positions with the organization. He is also a member of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility, and the ABA Standing Committee on Public Protection in the Provision of Legal Services.
Tyler is a partner in Frankfurt Kurnit’s Legal Ethics & Professional Responsibility practice group as well as the Litigation and White Collar Defense & Investigations practice groups. He is the managing editor of the firm's Professional Responsibility Law Blog.

Content Partners, LLC, a leading independent owner of major studio-distributed films and television shows, has acquired from Medstar Television 400 Forensic Files episodes, and international distribution rights to Forensic Files II. Created by Paul Dowling, the President and CEO of Frankfurt Kurnit client Medstar Television, Forensic Files is a pioneer of true crime television. The series aired from 1996—2011 on TLC, and is currently on CNN-owned HLN network, streamed on digital platforms by FilmRise, and distributed to television outlets around the world. Read more.

Frankfurt Kurnit Client Northwell Health Gets Big Win in Battle with NYU Langone Health System
In a battle between two of the largest healthcare systems in the New York metropolitan area, a New York federal court on March 1st handed an early win to Frankfurt Kurnit client Northwell Health. NYU Langone Health System (“NYU Langone”) sued Northwell Health alleging false advertising and trade dress infringement (i.e., infringement of the overall design and appearance of NYU Langone’s advertisements)—under state and federal law.
