Recent NY Ethics Opinions: May 2015
Check out Tyler Maulsby's summaries of two ethics opinions issued in January and February 2015. The first was issued by the NYSBA Committee on Professional Ethics on paying litigation expenses. The second was issued by the NYC Bar Association Committee on Professional Ethics on nonrefundable monthly fees in a retainer.

The New York Law Journal published Richard P. Swanson and Ronald C. Minkoff’s commentary, “A Call for Pro Bono Work in Lieu of Nationwide Injunctions.” In considering the impact of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Trump v. CASA (No. 24A884) on nationwide injunctions to enforce constitutional and statutory rights, the co-authors propose "that law firms engage in a large-scale pro bono effort to pursue individual claims whenever appropriate to secure important rights..."
