Variety features Andrew Hurwitz on its list of the top entertainment industry dealmakers for 2024.

Hurwitz cut deals for an impressive roster of franchise players like DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn (pacts to write/direct/produce “Superman” feature and second season of “Peacemaker” series) and former Walt Disney Animation Studios CCO Jennifer Lee (return to filmmaking with the sequels “Frozen 3” and “4”) and other marquee clients including Aaron Sorkin, J.C. Chandor and the Agatha Christie Estate.

-YouTubes of the world vs. traditional media: “It’s hundreds of millions of people that don’t have to pay for [content] versus a shrinking audience where they have to pay a lot for it,” he says. “So if I look into a crystal ball, I see less not more movies and TV shows being produced.”
