Frankfurt Kurnit Law Firm Promotes Top Advertising, Litigation, and Entertainment Lawyers to Partner
January 6, 2015, New York, N.Y. - Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, PC has elected Christopher R. Chase, Jeremy S. Goldman and Alan Sacks as partners effective January 1st, 2015.
Mr. Chase is now a partner in Frankfurt Kurnit’s Advertising, Marketing, & Public Relations Group as well as in the firm’s Trademark & Brand Management Group and Sports Group. Mr. Goldman is a partner in Frankfurt Kurnit’s Litigation Group as well as in the firm’s Technology, Digital Media, & Privacy Group. Mr. Sacks is a partner in Frankfurt Kurnit’s Entertainment Group as well as in the firm’s IP Finance Group and Sports Group.

About Christopher R. Chase
Christopher R. Chase is a partner in the Advertising, Marketing, & Public Relations Group, as well as in the Trademark & Brand Management Group and the Sports Group. In his advertising practice, Mr. Chase counsels a wide range of clients in the advertising and entertainment industries on all aspects of their businesses -- including rights clearance, negotiating and structuring complex agreements, regulatory matters, and risk assessment. He advises entertainment, advertising, sports, media, alcoholic beverage, and fashion industry clients on a full range of trademark matters, including prosecution of trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Mr. Chase also represents numerous sports industry clients, including a major sports league, apparel and footwear companies, agencies, and sponsors from various industries, for whom he provides counsel on branded entertainment, intellectual property, sponsorship, endorsement, and promotional matters. Mr. Chase is a frequent public speaker and published author who has been quoted in Sports Business Journal, Advertising Age, and other publications.
About Jeremy S. Goldman
Jeremy S. Goldman is a partner in the Litigation Group, as well as in the Technology, Digital Media & Privacy Group. Mr. Goldman focuses on media, entertainment, intellectual property, commercial and privacy law. He handles complex litigations involving copyright in the digital age, film and television contracts, trademarks and publicity rights. He has litigated some of the most closely watched copyright and entertainment cases, including representing The Authors Guild in the Google Books and HathiTrust cases, and Hasbro in a recent trial in Los Angeles over the motion picture rights to Dungeons & Dragons. His recent commercial litigation experience includes a bank fraud case, an ICC arbitration in Geneva, an art fraud, and a mortgage-based insurance fraud. In his technology law practice, Mr. Goldman advises on information privacy, data security, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and other issues. His published work appears in The Lexis Practice Advisor and Bloomberg's Federal Practice Law Reports, and he has been quoted in Deadline Hollywood, Hollywood Reporter, and other media.
About Alan Sacks
Alan Sacks is a partner in the Entertainment Group, as well as in the IP Finance Group and Sports Group. Mr. Sacks combines entertainment law and hands-on entertainment industry, transactional and advisory experience with a substantial corporate finance and private equity background. He represents financiers, writers, directors, actors and producers in both the studio system and independent arena. In addition, he represents authors, photographers, athletes, sports properties, sponsors and brands. Mr. Sacks advises on a wide range of financing, distribution, talent, celebrity branding and sports endorsement and sponsorship issues. He has special expertise in entertainment finance, structured financing products, and motion picture distribution, which is applied in both traditional media as well as the ever-evolving digital and split-rights landscape. He has written for the Hollywood Reporter and other publications.

Frankfurt Kurnit Partners with the Entertainment Software Rating Board’s Privacy Certified Program
Frankfurt Kurnit is pleased to announce that its Interactive Entertainment and Data Strategy, Privacy & Security Groups are partnering with the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) to enhance cooperation between ESRB’s Privacy Certified program and the firm. ESRB Privacy Certified assists companies in the video game and toy industries in implementing and maintaining lawful, transparent, and responsible data collection and privacy policies, as well as practices for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information and data. In 2001, the Federal Trade Commission approved ESRB Privacy Certified to serve as one of six Safe Harbor programs, overseeing its members’ compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
